ENVIRONMENTAL EXHIBITION 2009 TUNZA INTERNATIONAL YOUTH AND CHILDREN CONFERENCE
The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in cooperation with UNEP National Committee for the Republic of Korea will be hosting the 2009 Tunza International Youth Conference on the Environment in Daejeon, Korea from the 17 to 23 August 2009(Children 17th - 20th August and Youth 20th - 23th August). The Conference will collectively bring together about 800 young people (aged 10 to 24), to learn from one another and share experiences and ideas on environmental actions.
One of the main highlights of the conference is an environmental exhibition competition for participating organizations and individuals.
ENTRY DETAILS
Guidelines
Each entry must be clearly marked with the name and address of the organization.The exhibition competition will take place at the convention centre on the 20 August 2009.
All exhibits should be mounted by 19 August evening.
A member of the group will be required to make a 2 minute presentation on the project.
Exhibition posters and panels should be limited to within 50 cm by 70 cm due to limited space.
Award / Prize
4 top exhibits (2 children and 2 youth) will be selected for prizes.
The award will be US$ 6,000 for 1st Prize winners of the children and youth categories. The 2nd Prize winners of both categories will receive US$ 4,000.
Other awards including environmental publications will be given out.
The prize money will be awarded to the group, school or organization.
Monetary awards will not be awarded to individuals.
Judging Criteria
A jury consisting of high profile panelists will determine the winners for both categories (children and youth).
The jury will include UNEP’s Executive Director, Chinese top actress Zhou Xun, and renowned photographer Luo Hong.
Project should be currently on-going.
The project should be youth/children driven.
The project should be easily replicable in various regions.
Winners will be selected based on presentation and content of projects.
